Recent Grad Becomes Business Owner With The Patch Boys

Recent Grad Become Multi-Unit Franchise Owner

Hitting the ground running, recent college graduate Hogan McFadden is already off to a fast start in the franchise world, now operating two locations under The Patch Boys. As highlighted in a recent article in The Franchise Times, McFadden, just 22 years old, signed a two-unit agreement with The Patch Boys, an industry leader in drywall repair, all the while still attending Palm Beach Atlantic University.

According to The Franchise Times, McFadden and his classmate, Micah Droescher, invested about $70,000 to start their franchise career paths with The Patch Boys. McFadden told the publication he chose The Patch Boys because he saw the great need for services in his community.

“There are new homes built every day, and what we thought about was all the patches for holes in the walls,” McFadden told The Franchise Times. “There are thousands of plumbers, electricians, and contractors putting a hole in the wall every single day. All we had to do was get out there and capture that market.”

The Patch Boys is Built for Growth

For so many entrepreneurs, The Patch Boys has proven to be a scalable franchise opportunity that is perfect for owners who want to open multiple units. As one of the few national companies that focuses solely on drywall repair, The Patch Boys is quickly expanding its franchise footprint across the U.S. Many of the repair jobs we specialize in can be completed in just a few hours, meaning our crews can often take on multiple jobs each day. For franchise owners who want to expand to multiple locations, our business model is easy to operate, requiring only a few employees and a quick startup timeline.

Because drywall damage is so incredibly common, the demand for our services is only increasing amid the housing boom. In the $56 billion drywall repair industry, other professionals – plumbers, electricians, restoration companies – don’t typically take the jobs we specialize in. That means the market is wide open for The Patch Boys to continue to expand and thrive.

“From an operational standpoint, our services are designed to increase the profitability for our franchisees without increasing the complexity of their businesses,” Ted Speers, Brand President of The Patch Boys, says. “These services are complimentary, and can increase the average ticket of a job if a customer has more than one issue they would like addressed. We take pride in our work and we want our customers to be satisfied with the end result. In the home services industry, this commitment to customer service is rare – and we’re happy to be an outlier in this regard. A satisfied customer means repeat and referral business.”
